Providing very good news for homeowners who saw the value of their homes decline in recent years, the federal HARP refinance program has been extended through 2016.

United Guaranty has helped more than 80,000 borrowers refinance with HARP since the program began in 2009.

HARP is designed for borrowers who are current on their mortgages, but may have been unable to get traditional refinances because the value of their homes declined. Since HARP was launched in 2009, 3.3 million homeowners nationwide have refinanced at lower interest rates—which means less out-of-pocket costs each month.

HARP has been extended through December 2016, but eligible homeowners should act quickly to take advantage of today's historically low interest rates. United Guaranty has a dedicated HARP web page. You can also get more information at HARP.gov.
